HELP FAQ's»Update Your Profile and Preferences Answers to common FAQs (for a video preview click to the Home page):
- Though you are assigned to a team, the matches are not organized as team vs. team - rather they are 4 players of the same skill level
- Each of you is assigned a skill level - I've made my best guess - your team captains should be your point person for skill level change requests
- Captains contact info is on the "contact us" tab
- Player directory & other features are built into the website - click around to explore (including the blog)
- Player directory can be sorted by level & used to contact people - try it, you'll like it
- We have pre-arranged matches each per week on the site across all skill levels - pick the ones you like & click in
- Matches are Mon - Thur evenings, plus Sat morning & Sunday afternoon (maximum flexibility)
- You can schedule multiple matches at any point in time
- You can sign up for more than one match in a given week
- When you sign-up, the system sends an email confirmation back, with a meeting planner attachment for your outlook calendar - convenient
- You can choose matches at or below your skill level - not above (levels are AA, A1, A2 & B)
- Play a round robin of 3 sets for each match, with all 3 team combinations - if you have time for a 4th set - play whatever you'd like
- Tie breakers in paddle are slightly different than tennis... first point is served to the add court, switch sides, then serve 2 starting in deuce, switch after each subsequent 4 points, winner is the first team to reach 7 points, must win by 2
- Bring your own balls - normally a match takes 1 - 2 balls
- We have built automated score reporting - the 4th player is sent an email asking for the scores - other players are asked to confirm reported scores.
- View individual & team stats under the scores tab
- If you wish to drop out of a match for which you are scheduled - the system makes this a 2 step process & alerts the other players of your wish
- You can sign up as an alternate for any match you'd like to play (even one that isn't full) - if someone drops out, alternates are also notified
- If you have technical questions - try to figure it out first - ask your captain 2nd - me 3rd - I am the help desk
- Your email is the player ID - don't forget to use your proper email to sign-in
- Be sure to check that your match has 4 players - best practice is to email the group to confirm the day of your match - web makes that easy
- You can print your match detail & bring with you - it has contact info for all players
- If you wish the site could do something to speed the process - look around it's probably there & you've just not found it yet
- Best practice is to write yourself a recurring calendar entry every week with the URL imbedded - remind yourself to schedule new matches
- Matches at Cherokee, PDC & Ansley require 1 club member to sign up for each match played there - the site requires this as you'll see
- Paddle is all weather - matches are played unless everyone agrees that it is canceled - heavy rain is the only good reason to cancel
- We can add (or subtract) matches depending upon demand - PLAY A LOT!
- If possible, elect for matches where others are already signed up - maximizes the chance the match will fill-up.
- This is all about FUN, EXERCISE & SOCIALIZING - ENJOY!!!
- Don't miss the WHALE BAR at GPC - Steve & Julie are very generous
