LEAGUE OVERVIEW

Peachtree Paddle Women's League Play Overview - 2017/18 Season

  • 4 teams made up of 9-10 players per team.  Teams will be formed by the Women's League Committee with the goal to create equally competitive teams.  Each team has a mixture of players with Peachtree Paddle Player Ratings from Level 1-4.  For more information on Player Ratings, click on the Player Rating Levels tab.
  • League matches will be 3 lines of play.
  • 7 week Fall Season (October 23 - December 12, no matches Thanksgiving week) and 6 week Winter Season (January 9 - February 13).  Winners of both regular seasons will be guaranteed a 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs.  Playoff semis on February 20, 2018. Women's League Championships and Luncheon February 27, 2018.
  • League matches will be played on Tuesday mornings at Bitsy Grant, with the exception of January 24th (matches this week will be played on Thursday, January 26th).  Two teams will play at 9am and the other two teams will play at 10:30am.
  • Standings will be tracked based on total lines won.  At the end of the regular season, seeding for playoff round will be determined by total lines won with the following tiebreakers in the event of a tie:
    • Total number of sets won.
    • Total number of games won.
    • A randomly selected head to head match if necessary.
  • Match statistics will be tracked for all league participants (sets won and lost, games won and lost). Top performers in each Rating Level automatically qualify for the  APTA League Championships in Chicago in early April, 2017
  • Team captains will be responsible for setting lineups, communicating with team, and reporting scores.
